Solar System Outdoor Art
We had Leslie come in to our class and help us build the solar system out of snow and food colouring
Fun in the Classroom
We have fun every day in our classroom - learning, having visitors and doing centres!
Puppies Visit in Kindergarten
Elliott is fostering 3 puppies and he brought them in for us to visit with one afternoon!
Learning About Bears!
We had Mike come in to show us bear skulls and talk to us about bears, and then we went to McBride Museum to learn about different types of bears and other animals that are in the Yukon!
In tha fall (october) we had fun trying to eat doughnuts off of a string outside!
We're going Ice Fishing!
On Thursday February 18, Dean Bennett came to our classroom to tell us all about ice fishing. He brought in all of his tools and showed us how they work, and talked about what we will be doing when we go ice fishing on the 25th with him at hidden lakes!
In the late fall we had 100 salmon eggs brought into our school for students to take care of as they grow, until they are ready to be released! We look at them each day, and when they are big enough we will begin to feed them food! The whole school has helped to decorate the tank with pictures of fish and their habitat
We had a few different guests come into teach us about the environment in the Yukon. We learned how the river flows, and the different kinds of animals that live in the Yukon. One day we focused on the types of cats that live in the Yukon, and then the next day we learned about the types of dogs that live here! It was a lot of fun to learn so much while enjoying the outdoors!
